Film. Music. Photography.
Thanks for checking out my site. Below is a little bit about me...
I have been playing music (guitar) since the age of 6 and shooting film and photos since the age of 15.
As far as music goes, much of my early years were spent immersing myself in YouTube following and mimicking some of the guitar greats like Stevie Ray Vaughan, Eddie Van Halen, Jimi Hendrix, Alex Lifeson, Jimmy Page and Randy Rhoads. I didn’t have a style, per se, but I knew I just loved the way playing the guitar made me feel. Then I went to a Metallica concert with my dad. That was it! The sound, the lights, the guitar riffs — I knew I wanted to be in that same arena someday playing music like that. So I started a band at the age of 12, and we are still around today. (Haven't played that arena yet, but I will).
Most of my teenage years were spent either at school, at rehearsal, or performing. Football, lacrosse, and many school events had to be put on ice. But I did have the opportunity to perform hundreds of shows and share the stage with amazing bands like Stone Sour, Chevelle, Black Veil Brides, Pop Evil, Flyleaf, Three Days Grace, Buckcherry, and The Pretty Reckless, Black Stone Cherry, Highly Suspect, Thousand Foot Krutch, and many others.
Aside from performing, I also really love being in the studio writing and recording music. It can be long and tedious to some, but I enjoy it. The ability to create music magic in the studio is extremely interesting to me, and I’m very fortunate to have had the opportunity record with Grammy-winning producers like Dave Fortman and Matt Squire. It has been very inspiring to see how they think, create and work.
As an independent band, we did not have the resources of label bands, so I handled most facets of the business with our manager. And because I was the one with a decent camera, I was tasked with visually documenting the entire experience. That’s how I fell in love with film. Like music, a film is a form of art that I could show others my life through my lens. I spent several years now engulfed in photography and film, and it's my passion – everything from short films, documentary vignettes, concert footage, live music videos and lots of people and places photojournalism stuff.
I currently live in Chicago where I work as a director of photography and photographer for Lyrical Lemonade. I have been very fortunate to be able to visually document remarkable life experiences that I have had (so far), and I am excited each and every day to see the world through my lens.
